Compromised

The finished print has lost it’s way in an ocean of screens and monitors. It wasn’t so long ago that photography was a printed medium. Maybe I’m old school or I’m romanticizing the art of the photographic print. Nonetheless I feel posting photographs online , especially posting on social media sites, degrades photography ( or any visual art ) . Like everything else so much of our lives have been diverted to screens and pixels, the virtual impersonal . The texture is gone and the art of printmaking has lost it’s integrity. Showing physical prints in person is a thing of the past. These days if you don’t have an online presence you’ll be left out of the market for art selling and gig ass
